The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Meles Alem, gave a press briefing today for the first time, at the Science Museum.
The press briefing focused particularly on the ongoing Diplomatic Exhibition in the Science Museum, the annual ambassadors and mission leaders’ meeting and the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Diplomatic Week and Exhibition, he said has continued to draw a number of visitors from all different walks of life and it is meeting the objectives of the Ministry to make the public understand the rich diplomatic history of Ethiopia and appreciate the role that the Ministry has continued to play in advancing the country’s interests.
The ambassador also highlighted the major agenda items of the meeting of ambassadors and mission leaders who were drawn from 52 missions.
The ambassadors and mission leaders’ meeting will continue for the upcoming week giving priority to create coordination among them and various sectors in the country, Ambassador Meles added.
Speaking on the Davos World Economic Forum, Dr. Ambassador Meles Alem, said that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen is participating in the Forum which aims to discuss current geo-Political issues that need the attention of World leaders and wealthy individuals.
What makes today’s press briefing unique is the attendance of high school students from Addis Ababa, who will someday be Diplomats themselves.
