Foreign Minister Taye Atske-Selassie received and discussed with Robert Oliphant, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada today.

Ambassador Taye appreciated Canada’s support in difficult times and the importance of scaling up the longstanding and multi-sectoral bilateral relations.

Ambassador Taye also expressed the need to enhance trade and investment relations between the two countries and called for Canadian Business people to invest in the digital sector, mining, energy and manufacturing sectors.

Robert Oliphant on his part stated that Ethiopia is one of the prioritized African countries in Canada’s foreign relations.

Oliphant also expressed Canada’s keenness to enhance its relations with Ethiopia in trade, investment, humanitarian assistance, development cooperation and other fields.

The discussions also covered regional, continental and international issues of mutual importance.
